Our name

Ikaya means “home” in isiXhosa, and Ikaya Lomlingo can be read as “magical home.”

A fitting name for a place that carries such good energy and offers a lush garden full of life.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle

Our apartment sits in the sleepy coastal town of Cunit, where you can lower your shoulders and simply take a break. It’s a grounded, handcrafted kind of calm, sun on the terrace, the fountain trickling in the garden, and the sea just a short walk away.

And when you feel like exploring, the bigger cities are an easy hop: Barcelona, Sitges, Tarragona and more, all within reach by train or car.

Cunit

A sleepy coastal town where the day is measured by the tide. Palm-lined promenades, unhurried cafes and a wide sandy beach just a short stroll from the door.

Wine & Cava

You are on the doorstep of the Penedès, Catalonia's sparkling-wine heartland. Spend a slow afternoon among the vines, tour a family cellar and toast the trip with a glass of cava straight from the source.

Sitges

Whitewashed streets, a landmark seafront church and a string of golden beaches. Sitges is the coast at its most romantic, perfect for a long, sun-warmed afternoon.

Barcelona

The great Catalan capital is a short, scenic train ride away. Gaudí's masterpieces, buzzing markets and Gothic lanes, an easy day trip, then home to the quiet of Cunit.

Calafell

A relaxed neighbouring beach town with a long palm-shaded promenade, a medieval hilltop castle and plenty of chiringuitos for a seaside drink.

Vilanova i la Geltrú

A characterful harbour town of sunny plazas, a working fishing port and some of the best seafood rice on the coast. Easy to reach and lovely for a lazy lunch.
